The Re-Birth of My Afro

Dear God, (and anyone else out there reading...)

Thank you for my for a REASON friendships with BlaqKofi and Creyole, I pray that as I grow and mature in Sisterlocks™ that our relationships will grow to for a SEASON friendships and eventually to LIFETIME friendships. You see it is through "certain" spirits that you place in my path, that I am able to see JESUS. Jesus is my LIFETIME friend! Currently My identical twin sister is also my LIFETIME friend. Here is why...

She is my natural sister and she is also my spiritual sister in Christ at the church we are both members of. She lifts me and encourages me in my commitment to Jesus. She gives without the expectation of anything in return from me but LOVE. She accepts, my radical, fanatical, mathematical Love of Jesus. No matter, through the years, how I sat her to the side to pursue this relationship or that friendship, at the end she is the one who has remained standing. She gives me an unconditional, nonjudgmental LOVE, she is my LIFETIME friend.

It is through my relationship with (until I consult with her, I will call her...) LJPrincess13, that I am able to see with my natural eyes how Jesus forgives me over and over again. He is a God of second chances, even when I don’t deserve them. Jesus is my friend, He is consistent in everyway. Jesus is my LIFETIME friend!

This picture is 8 years old. However, I think we look so much alike here. Can you guess who is RJQueen10 and who is LJPrincess13?

Hint: In this picture she just had a beautiful baby girl for US, so she is slightly healthier than her normal. At that point in my life, I was not blessed with children, so we shared her daughter. I am so in love with my neice, she calls me "AuntieMommie".

Thanks to BlaqKofi, I am able to attempt at creating a more interesting views of my photos. I call the above the re-birthing of my Afro. It is kinda a bitter-sweet experience. When I final figure out how to style my own natural hair, I am moving on to Sisterlocks™. I thank you God for this time to experience and care for my own natural hair. It is truly liberating.

But with all things in life, eventually we must UPGRADE and that is why I have an appointment with GIGI a certified Sisterlocks™ consultant on March 16, 2007! So that is 11 days away!

I really tried to keep this post short, I guess my style is at this point is just "long-winded". Perhaps I will have to say less after I come home to Sisterlocks™.

In the meantime, watch me as I breath...deeply. Inhale through the nose (mmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH) and Exhale through the mouth (aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH). (repeat 9 more times)

In Jesus's powerful name, Amen.

RJQueen10

If anyone out there besides God is listening, feel free to share and post a response.

Awww that was a wonderfully sweet post. You are inspiring me to get a membership somewhere and get rid of this chunkiness. I'm just starting my locking process and will continue my liberation by freeing myself of many unwanted pounds. Thank you.

Wow! Wow! WOW! I have comments, Comments, COMMENTS! I tried to reply last night when I got in from church at 10:00 pm (Texas time). However, I was delirious and I lost whatever it was I was typing in. What a shame, but fear not. Here I am today refreshed and renewed, ready to start again. I think I will go over to microsoft word. So I will not remake whatever mistake I made last night.

Creyole,
Thank you for the tribute on your blog. You are phenomenal. You are correct. I am past getting addicted, I AM ADDICTED to blogging. My husband keeps commenting that evertime I get a spare moment I am online researching Sisterlocks™ and working on my blog. I have tried to join “lockitup” group twice. Once from Sandy’s website and the second time from BlaqKofi’s blog. The second time, the system would not let me use my name RJQueen10. Did that occur with you? Do you have a different name at lockitup than you do on your blog. Three times is a charm so I will try again later today or tomorrow. If I still have trouble, I will call ya and maybe you can walk me through it. I never heard of “lovinlocs” group. But you know, I am going to check it out immediately, Immediately, IMMEDIATELY. See here you are feeding my addiction, there is no shame in your game. Thank you! Because I needed another fix. I think I read all of Sandy’s blog, I am on Leighann’s blog, so hey it is all excellent, I LOVE information.

Lovin’ Locks,
Thank you. I know this is at least your second post here at my blog. Thank you for taking some of your time to let me know you are out there. You are taking classes? See now I definitely have to go to your blog to find out more. What is Alafia? Is that your name? Are you the same “lovinlocs” group that Creyole mentioned above?
I tried to shorten my posts here. But right now I am kind of “long winded”, it feels like I have either been holding my breath for the last 34 years or definitely not getting enough oxygen inside of me. So maybe after I am Sisterlocked™ in 10 days on March 16, 2007. I will have gotten enough out of my system so I will not have to blog so much. In the meantime, I write, I Write, I WRITE!

Chosen Vessel,
Thank you for taking your time to post on my blog. Thank you for appreciating my tribute to my friendships and relationships I have. I really like your name. Chosen Vessel, that is so anointed awesome. You don’t even have to explain it, it speaks for itself. However, I can’t wait to visit your blog to see if you actually go in to depth about what it means to you to be God’s Chosen Vessel.

Chosen Vessel, My twin sister is my best friend. I am so happy my husband understands this and does not try to come between our closeness. She laughs at all of my jokes (hard) and then later when we are alone and it is just she and I, she will say, “Okay, now was the punch line?” I look at her in disbelief. I tell her, “You were laughing so hard, I just knew you got the joke”! Thank you again for visiting my blog spot!

Jett Love,
Thank you for you understanding my post. You honor me by saying that I am “inspiring” you. To God be all of the glory. This is what I am doing for 2007 as far as gyms are concerned. My current gym membership is free, however the equipment there is kinda old and the aerobics classes are boring, every since they lost Bobbi (my favorite aerobics instructor).

So this year I am visisting all of the gyms, using free passes that I either download or by visiting the actual workout facility and requesting a pass. This year I visited “Curves” for three weeks. I like this one the best! Second I visited Bally’s Total fitness for eight weeks through the annual “National Body Challenge”, I have a four week pass to 24 hour fitness. I actually used to be a member there for over one year. Following that I will visit LA fitness and any other gym I obtain free passes to. When I graduate from grad school in Dec. 2008 then I will decide which gym I join. It will probably be “Curves” so far. One day, I will do a post an “Exercise Review” blog and summarize my experiences so far…

My first addiction is Jesus, and I am more addicted to exercising than blogging. It is funny I used to be addicted to negative things now… I wish you were here in Texas, I would workout with you and encourage you and support you through your weightloss freedom. If you blog about it, I can do it from a distance. I will visit your blogspot, very, Very, VERY soon.

Muslimahlocs,
yes, Yes, YES! I have 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10 days left of waiting. Thanks you for visiting and reading me. Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. I have to go order my ticket for the Dr. Cornwell, meet-and-greet. I was so busy bloggin, I almost forgot, AGAIN. I will visit your blog real soon.

BlaqKofi,
Thank you for your compliment. God is so good! I am a twin and He gave me twins. It is good to know that you feel I have bless you, because you have definitely bless me. I like that part where you say “years to come”, that IS good news. Thanks for doing a link to my blog from your site later this week. I am thanking you in advance. I appreciate you. You also keep your spirits up. I notice on your blog, your beautiful hair, I guess after your recent retightening? The color looks different. It looks golden and not brown. Have you changed your hair color? Maybe, I really was delirious last night when I tried to make these posts.

Blaq,
I was responding to Creyole’s post on her blog spot. I actually signed my full real name. I was sitting there in shock! Then I was happy that I actually previewed it before I published. Out here, I just like being known as RJQueen10, ya know what I mean? Well, after that almost mishap, I knew it was time to stop bloggin’ for the day and get me some sleep, so I could be restored and renewed for today.

Jenn Jenn,
Thanks for taking time to read me, and thank you for understanding my testimony. I am so in awe, that I have comments. I thought It was cool with me coming on and bloggin’ to God and Jesus (and anyone else out there reading…). Well, to get comments, to get feedback, really, Really, REALLY does feel good! Now, if Creyole, thought I was addicted before, you all have added fuel to my “fix”. Seriously, I am honored everyone took time out of there lives to let little ole me know, Know, KNOW that they are not only reading me, but that you are who you are.
Whew, this took so much time, and I am not complain, I am just explaining. That I will not post a blog today! I will be back Wednesday with a new post!

God's Humble Servant,
Sis. RJQueen10

Renea,
First of all, I like your name. Does it mean anything? Thank you for taking the time to let me know you are reading me and for welcoming me to the Sisterlocks™ community and my self-Love Experience. I think I finally got into the lockitup group and I think I saw your name over there. Are you a member there too. Thank you for the words of encouragement about my upcoming hair. I am so excited, Excited, EXCITED, I almost cannot contain myself. I will visit your blog very soon. Ya know, I am addicted to this stuff. Perhaps after, I get my Sisterlock™. I will taper off on the number of post I make. I know this will definately happen when school starts back up, right now I am on spring break and lovin' it!

Sis. RJQueen10

Goodnapps,
Thank you for welcoming me home to Sisterlocks. Thank you for taking the time to let me know you are out there reading me. I appreciate your comments. “Goodnapps” that is a cool name. I like it. I am still trying to educate my husband about “good” and “bad” hair. He is coming around like a champion. Wow, years and years, and years of this stuff have not only affected the black woman, but the black man too. As Nathan McCall and Marvin Gaye would say, “Makes me wanna holla,”. But now I have a new praise, so we are going to be alright.
